Papua New Guinea National Day

The High Commissioner for Papua New Guinea Ms Jean Lucilla Kekedo, OBE decided to do something a little different by celebrating her National Day at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery off Fitzroy Square alongside an exhibition of art, sculpture and textiles from back home. There was a festive atmosphere at this event which was well attended by London’s diplomatic community and friends of Papua New Guinea.

Mexico Independence

The Mexican Embassy off Belgrave Square was packed full of guests to celebrate the country’s Independence Day on 15 September. Margaritas and tequila were the order of the day at the lunchtime reception hosted by Ambassador Juan José Bremer.

Brazil’s National Day

The diplomatic season kicked off with Brazil’s National Day celebrations  on 7 September hosted by Ambassador Mr Carlos Augusto R Santos-Neves at the magnificent Residence in Mayfair.

Ukraine Independence Day

Hosted by the Ambassador Dr Ihor Kharchenko, London’s diplomatic community and friends of Ukraine celebrated the country’s Independence Day at a garden reception at the Embassy in Holland Park on 10 September.

Venezuela’s Independence Day

Earlier in the summer, the Ambassador of Venezuela Mr Samuel Moncada hosted his country’s Independence Day celebrations which were attended by many of London’s diplomatic community.
