Diplomat reviews the London Hilton on Park Lane
The tallest hotel in London, the Hilton on Park Lane is a big personality of a hotel. Situated in the heart of Mayfair and overlooking Hyde Park, the hotel was named the UK's 'Best Business Hotel' in 2008 by Business Traveller magazine. With 453 bedrooms, 13 conference rooms and a ballroom that can hold up to 1000 people, the hotel boasts spacious new suites and executive rooms along with a health club and treatment rooms. In the basement, Trader Vics, the Polynesian bar famed for its Mao Tai cocktail, has just celebrated its 45th birthday, while on the top floor guests can enjoy 360° views of the city from the 28th-floor Galvin at Windows restaurant. However, where the Hilton really excels is in holding and organising large events and conferences.
The award-winning Hilton Meetings programme is successfully operating across the world and has been specifically developed to ensure productive, hassle-free meetings and presentations. Hilton Meetings provides more than just well- equipped, high quality meeting rooms with air-conditioning and ergonomically-designed seating, by bringing together a wide range of business-focused services. From the unrivalled support of their in-house business teams (via an in-room call button), to AV equipment, video conferencing and online facilities and the choice of a flexible range of food and drink menus, guests are provided with everything they need to make their meetings a success.
The Hilton on Park Lane is also happy to cater for big events. Whatever the scale and complexity of your function, whether you need to accommodate several hundred guests for a conference in London or your delegates are arriving at different times throughout a global team-building week, the Hilton on Park Lane delivers. The hotel has the experience and expertise to handle the extra details – a personalised welcome letter, or perhaps a thoughtful gift – that make the difference between moderately memorable and absolutely unforgettable. Hilton has a global network of big conference and event hotels. All have the ability to hold over 500 delegates theatre-style, and all can sleep over 250 guests on any one night.
